A six-year-old girl who went to answer the call of nature near the Ghaghra river channel was killed in a leopard attack in Isanagar area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on Monday.
The girl was a resident of Chakdaha village, which is adjacent to Dhaurahra area of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve.
NK Chaturvedi, ranger of Dhaurahra shooting range, said, “We are monitoring the area. If there is frequent movement of a big cat in the area, a cage will be placed.”
Since March 2020, eight children have reportedly died in similar attacks in the area.
